Sarah Thornton is a Law Clerk at DDV Law, Ltd., where she supports attorneys in advocating for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families. Her work includes assisting with estate planning, probate and estate administration, and guardianship matters. She utilizes strong organizational skills and a client-focused approach to ensure that legal processes move forward smoothly and efficiently.

 

Sarah earned her Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2025, where she was an active member of the Society of Women in Law and gained experience in legal research, writing, and advocacy. During law school, she served as a Grant Writing Intern at the Veteran's Legal Aid Society, where she researched and applied for grants in support of the organization's work advocating for veterans' rights. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with a minor in Legal Studies, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2022.

 

Sarah brings valuable legal experience from her clerkships at Stotis & Baird Chartered, where she focused on estate administration, and Levin & Perconti, where she worked on litigation involving nursing home and birth injury cases. She also previously clerked at DDV Law, Ltd., where she assisted with estate planning and guardianship matters, and conducted nationwide research on statutory reforms in elder law.

 

Outside of work, Sarah volunteers with Lawyers for Good Government's Reproductive Health Legal Assistance Project, helping providers and patients navigate the evolving landscape of reproductive healthcare law. She also enjoys cooking and baking, listening to music (especially Taylor Swift), and spending time with friends and family.
