Peter J. Shayman is an Associate Attorney at DDV Law, Ltd., where his practice focuses on
estate planning, long-term care planning, probate, and guardianship. With nearly a decade of
legal experience, Peter is passionate about helping clients prepare for the future while navigating
the legal and emotional complexities that come with aging, disability, and family transitions.
Peter is an experienced litigator who has handled more than a dozen bench trials and resolved
numerous contested matters through negotiation and settlement. Known for his strong writing
skills and attention to detail, he is a trusted advocate who brings both empathy and precision to
every case.
Licensed in both Illinois and Iowa, Peter is an active member of the Illinois State Bar
Association—particularly its Trusts and Estates Section—as well as the Iowa State Bar

A lifelong resident of the Chicagoland area, Peter enjoys spending time with his dogs, watching
